Rocky Point Run

Tauranga Bay to Carters Beach | Sunday October 22nd

The Rocky Point Trail Run is the beautiful Buller region’s latest contribution to the New Zealand running calendar.
Utilising recently opened sections of trail, the run takes competitors on a scenic journey from Tauranga Bay to Carters Beach.

25km
Run

Following the same route as the 12.5km course; 25km runners will carry on to the Puwaha section of the Kawatiri Coastal Trail, over the Martins Creek Suspension Bridge onto an elevated boardwalk through pristine wetlands. Competitors will follow The Trail and cross the Buller Bridge to follow the outer track of the Millennium Trail along the Buller River; looping back via the inner track to follow the Trails back to The Carter Beach Domain finish line.

Run or Walk

Beginning at Tauranga Bay, competitors will follow the Kawatiri Coastal Trail around the bay and up towards William’s Gully, following The Trail through native plantings and Podocarp forest dominated by Rimu.
Emerging from the forest The Trail then offers an expansive coastal experience leading competitors from Omau to the Carters Beach Domain finish line.

Beginning in Westport at the Buller Bridge car park this less taxing, fun event is based on the Pūwaha Section (Westport to Carters Beach), of the Kawatiri Coastal Trail.
This 5km course showcases lush farmland, beautiful wetlands and lush native forest.

Our event will feature some tasty treats from local makers to help tempt you across the finish line.
