Richard Niederer has been the Chairperson of the Charleston – Westport Coastal Trail Trust since its inception. Forever the voice of reason, Richard has expertly guided the trail project through the Trust, and has been instrumental in networking and building really strong relationships with Stakeholders.

Richard has a financial management background in the transport and mining sectors, and consistently delivers stable governance and positive forward planning support to both the Trust and the project team.

We asked Richard what he considered to be the biggest challenge once the Trail is open. He told us, ‘to keep the experience fresh, current and extensive. The trail can’t yield all its secrets immediately – people need to dig for them, to enhance their experience and memories.’
