COVID-19 INFORMATION

Under the current traffic light system our region is at ORANGE

How the Trail operates at different traffic light settings:

RED

For the Sections of Trail that are currently open there will be no restrictions of use under the current traffic light system, unless we are directed specifically by Government.

We ask users to please be respectful, and mindful of keeping a safe distance from other users and sanitise when using seating and rails.

Should we move to the RED setting under the Framework, as an additional precaution we ask Trail users to avoid contact with barriers, handrails, fences, benches and picnic tables, as the virus can remain on surfaces for three days.

A few tips to remember:

Whilst Contact Tracing is not a requirement, a number of QR Codes remain located on parts of the Trail.

It is prudent to maintain reasonable physical distance from groups/people that aren’t with you.

Use basic hygiene measures, sanitise hands and cough or sneeze into your elbow.

Please use common sense. If you are sick, or have cold or flu symptoms stay at home, contact Healthline, your doctor, or iwi health provider and enjoy the Trail another day.

Kawatiri Coastal Trail Offices

The Kawatiri Coastal Trail office is located within a group of offices known as EPIC. The Owners of the facilities have stipulated all visitors entering the building must provide a vaccine pass. Therefore we require all visitors to the office to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 prior, and be able to produce a vaccine pass to enter the main building and the office. This will impact everyone 12 years and above as per the current vaccination eligibility.

Whilst we are respectful of individual choice around vaccination, we must follow industry standard and legal health requirements. If you are unvaccinated or exempt, contact us to arrange a meeting at an alternative location, or over Zoom.

Thank you for your co-operation, stay safe and enjoy the Trail.
